All in one design and construction
Compared to the split version of the traditional wall-mounted indoor unit and separate hot water tank, the Daikin Altherma 3 air-to-water heat pump significantly reduces the space required. With a small footprint of just 595x600mm, the Altherma 3 indoor unit is similar in size to any other household appliance, be it a fridge or washing machine or the like.
The Altherma 3 air-to-water heat pump can be installed without the need for additional space on the sides of the unit, as all piping is at the top of the unit. The height of the device with a 180L domestic water tank is 1.65m and the height of the device with a 230L domestic water tank is 1.85m, and in both cases a height of less than 2m is required to install the entire device.
The compactness of the indoor unit also has a very stylish and modern look, thanks to which it blends seamlessly with other household appliances.
The new filter allows extremely easy maintenance. It is not necessary to remove the water filter to remove the dirt in the heating system, but the dirt particles can be emptied directly into the tank in the heat pump. The filter with a sieve filter also includes automatic ventilation. Precipitation in the heating system due to the reaction of different metals and the corrosion of oxygen is an even bigger problem than red rust. As it moves with the water flow, the sediment spreads throughout the system, forming an additional layer of insulation, damaging the circulation pumps, clogging the radiator thermostatic valves and balancing. The magnetite particles are so fine that no sieve filter can handle them, so they settle all over the system (boilers, heat exchangers, heaters, radiators, pipes, heat pumps, etc.). Problems arise in the new systems already in the second or third heating period, because in modern systems many different metals are used
